Carla M. Saccone, LICSW, is the President and CEO of Children's Friend and Family Services. Ms. Saccone brings over three decades of experience to Children's Friend, including her most recent role as Vice President for Programs at the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, where she provided leadership and direction for the agency's extensive system of programming for families and children. Her past experience also includes multiple directorships at the Department of Mental Health, including Area Director for the Northeast region and Director of the Greater Lynn office for seven years. Ms. Saccone is also a member of the Association for Behavioral Healthcare Board and the Advisory Board of the Department of Children and Families Greater Lynn office.
Nina Rosenberg, MMHS, is the agency's Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Rosenberg has a lengthy and varied professional background including government programs and financing policy, managed care, and mental health business operations. She brings to Children's Friend significant experience envisioning, developing and rolling out new programs and business ventures, and providing leadership to local projects as well as to major statewide initiatives. For the eight years directly prior to joining Children's Friend, Ms. Rosenberg held the position of Director of Business Development and Corporate Compliance for The Home for Little Wanderers. Ms. Rosenberg also currently holds the appointment of Co-Chair of the Regulatory and Legislative Committee of the Children's Behavioral Health Advisory Council, a standing council that reports directly to the Massachusetts Legislature.
Suzanne S. Gruhl, MBA, CPA is the agency's Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Gruhl has over 30 years experience in nonprofit audit, tax and operations. Prior to joining Children's Friend, Ms. Gruhl was CFO of the YWCA of Boston and Partner in Charge of Nonprofit Services for a Boston public accounting firm where she managed services for 65 nonprofit organizations. Ms. Gruhl also has extensive Board experience including positions on the board of a publicly held bank, a mutual insurance company, and regional acute and non-acute hospital systems. She currently is a member of the Partners Continuing Care Board.
Diane Young, LMHC, Director of Clinical Services, began her career at Children's Friend 10 years ago as a clinician, then Site Director, Clinical Director and now Director of Clinical Services. She holds dual Masters Degrees in Counseling and Psychological Services as well as Early Childhood Education. She has extensive experience working in school settings with children and youth who have comorbid developmental disorders and learning disabilities, specializing in Autism Broad Spectrum Disorder. Diane has researched, written grants and budgets for and implemented three Evidence based Treatments (EBTs) over the past 5 years. She has extensive understanding about all facets of EBTs, especially fidelity to the model, implementation and sustainability. Diane is on the Advisory Board of the Department of Children and Families for the Cape Ann office.
Sarah D. Reich, MA, SPHR, CIR: Director of Human Resources: With a concentration in recruiting, employee relations, policy and procedure development, employment law compliance, and general HR office administration, Sarah's background includes 20 years of progressively responsible Human Resources positions across a wide variety of industries including: non profit/academia, non profit/human services, hotel, venture capital, and HR Consulting/Outsourcing . Additionally, Sarah holds a Bachelor's in Psychology from Syracuse University and a Master's in Human Resources from Framingham State College as well as an SPHR certification (Senior Professional in Human Resources) and a CIR certification (Certified Internet Recruiter).
Sandy Sheckman, the agency's Development Director, holds a Graduate Diploma in Non-Profit Administration, a Masters Degree from New York University and a Bachelors Degree from Smith College. She brings considerable experience in the not-for-profit arena, having served as the Executive Director of the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore, and the Development Director and Interim Executive Director of the Lynn Museum. She has created and implemented a variety of strategies and programs that are dedicated to furthering the mission of each agency.
