EBTs for Massachusetts Children and Families: Background and Resources on Evidence-Based Treatments

Purpose of these pages

This section of our website is hosted on behalf of the Children’s League of Massachusetts. The purpose of these pages is to provide information relevant to the advancement of evidence-based mental health treatments in Massachusetts, in support of the efforts of the Children’s League of Massachusetts to “focus on best practice, research, and quality”. The Children’s League has recently (2007) convened a committee to focus specifically on evidence-based treatments.

Children’s League Chairperson: Marylou Sudders, President/CEO, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children
Children’s League Executive Director: Barbara Talkov

Why now?

Massachusetts is reorganizing children’s services on a historic scale.

Evidence-based practices and evidence-based treatments will be emphasized in the reorganization of all three service segments: child welfare, and acute and chronic mental health services.

Contributing to the EBT pages

It is our wish to make this site useful to a variety of stakeholders in children’s mental health, including consumers, residents, service providers, researchers and policy makers. In order to accomplish this, we encourage your input.

We don’t yet have a discussion board or a place for stakeholders to share their experiences or projects. We encourage your suggestions in this regard.

We are in the process of posting links to useful documents, such as research papers. Unfortunately, we can only provide direct access readings for which we can obtain copyright permission at a nominal cost. (For other important documents we provide citations.) Again, your suggestions will help us identify useful resources for other readers.

The website is maintained by Children’s Friend and Family Services, and does not necessarily reflect the views of the Children’s League or its members.

Please send all comments, questions and suggestions to ckovacev@childrensfriend.net.
