Children's Friend provides services in four locations: Lawrence, Lynn, Salem and Gloucester.

Specific needs in our four locations are subject to change; however, we are always interested in receiving inquiries from qualified candidates for the following positions:

Care Coordinators – Lawrence CSA, MA and Lynn CSA, MA
Master's and Bachelor's level Intensive Care Coordinators use a Wraparound approach to help families care for their children with serious behavioral and /or mental health issues. Apply your strong understanding of children's mental health and family issues as well as your cultural sensitivity to work collaboratively with families, their supports, other professionals, and community partners to develop individualized, strength based plans of care. Licensure a plus. Competency in Spanish or other languages highly desirable.

Family Partners – Lawrence CSA, MA and Lynn CSA, MA
Family Support and Training provided by Family Partners is one of the innovative new services developed as part of Massachusetts' Children's Health Initiative (CBHI). Family Partners are parents or caregivers of children with serious emotional difficulties or other disability who apply their own life experiences in order to help educate and support other families with similar circumstances. Family Partners work collaboratively with families and professionals to find community resources, teach parenting skills, navigate special education and public child-serving agencies, and empower parents to advocate effectively for themselves. The position requires individuals who are mature and responsible, have good verbal and written communication skills, reliable transportation, enjoy helping others, and can work independently as well as part of a team. Competency in Spanish or other languages highly desirable for Lynn. Bilingual Spanish/English a must for Lawrence.

Therapeutic Mentors – Gloucester, Lawrence, Lynn, Salem, MA
Therapeutic Mentors work with children & youth with emotional, behavioral and learning challenges to help them with gaining interpersonal skills, emotional control, and problem-solving skills that are prescribed as part of their individualized care treatment plan. Responsibilities include developing and providing activities aimed at reaching designated goals; writing progress notes in a timely manner; building strong working relationships with referring agencies, community organizations, and professionals. Requires Associates or Bachelors degree in a human service field and one year experience working with children/adolescent age youth, or a High School Diploma or GED and two years relevant experience. Must be a minimum of 21 years old with reliable transportation and proof of valid auto registration, auto insurance, and driver's license. Successful candidates will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be willing to learn about child/youth mental health issues, be familiar with and sensitive to diverse cultures and ethnicities, and willing to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed.

In Home Therapists, Master's Level –Lawrence, Lynn, Salem, MA
The In-Home therapy team consists of Master's and Bachelor's level clinicians offering a combination of Intensive In-Home Therapy and Therapeutic Training and Support to youth with emotional, behavioral and learning challenges and their families, with the goal of helping stabilize youth in their home and community environments. This service is intended to prevent the youth's admission to an inpatient hospital, psychiatric residential treatment facility or other out-of-home treatment settings.

Seeking Master's level clinicians with a degree in counseling psychology, social work, or marriage/family therapy with Massachusetts license preferred (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) to carry out responsibilities that include: comprehensive home based behavioral assessment inclusive of the CANS; risk management, safety, and treatment planning; Intensive Family Therapy; 24/7 phone crisis response; member outreach and transportation; documentation, and participation in discharge planning. Requires experience providing family therapy, working therapeutically with children and adolescents with serious mental health issues and/or behavioral disorders and their families, and experience with strength-based assessment and development of treatment plans based on clear clinical formulations and knowledge of collateral systems. Must also be capable of working collaboratively within a team structure. Must have reliable transportation and proof of valid auto registration, auto insurance, and driver's license. Successful candidates will have demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, be familiar with and sensitive to diverse cultures and ethnicities, and willing to work flexible hours including evenings as needed.

In Home Therapist, Bachelor's Level –Lawrence, Lynn, Salem, MA
The In-Home therapy team consists of Master's and Bachelor's level clinicians offering a combination of Intensive In-Home Therapy and Therapeutic Training and Support to youth with emotional, behavioral and learning challenges, with the goal of helping stabilize youth in their home and community environments. The BA level In-Home Therapist provides Therapeutic Training & Support designed to assist the youth and family in achieving their treatment goals. Specific responsibilities include identification of community resources and development of natural supports for youth and parent/guardian/caregiver, skills training for youth and parent/caregiver, and coaching in support of decision making in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Eligible candidates will have a bachelor's degree in psychology or social work; have professional experience working therapeutically with children and adolescents with serious mental health issues and/or behavioral disorders and their families; have knowledge of collateral systems; and be capable of working collaboratively within a team structure. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, be familiar with and sensitive to diverse cultures and ethnicities, and willing to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed. Reliable transportation and proof of valid auto registration, auto insurance, and driver's license are also required.

Clinicians –Gloucester, Lawrence, Lynn, Salem, MA
This position is responsible for providing effective mental health intervention to assigned clients (individuals and families), coordinating with primary care physicians, referrers, insurance carriers or other agencies, completing and maintaining documentation and records while representing Children's Friend in a professional manner that adheres to Children's Friend policies and guidelines and State and Federal regulations and program requirements. Duties include: Meeting with clients to assess their needs and provide complete diagnosis, and determining manageable problem focus and treatment priorities in collaboration with clients (clients may include children, adolescents, families, adults); Presenting timely treatment plans to multi disciplinary team for review and utilization management and implementing treatment directives developed at team meetings; Interacting effectively with each client and working with clients, and when appropriate, their support systems to produce behavioral, cognitive, and /or emotional changes that meet treatment goals and then evaluating client progress and revising treatment plans as needed; Completing necessary documentation within required time parameters for each client (for example: assessments, treatment plans, insurance authorizations, progress notes and treatment summaries; participating effectively in group supervision and staff meetings, and in quality improvement initiatives. Clinicians must maintain current license status and, if applicable, obtain licensure as agreed upon hire, adapt to new developments through continuing education, and have basic computer skills.
