Children's Friend provides mental health counseling services for children and families. We provide individual, family and group counseling in addition to psychopharmacology and a full range of psychological/neuropsychological testing. Our therapists treat children/adolescents with various emotional, behavioral and developmental issues with a great focus on strengthening families. Our clinicians focus on working collaboratively within the communities in which the child and family are involved. We believe that helping a child/adolescent to grow is a shared responsibility of all the systems involved with that youth and part of our job is to establish such working collaborations. We often provide counseling services in schools, day care centers, Head Start programs and in homes to ensure accessibility. We believe in working with youth and families as close to their natural environments as possible. Furthermore, clinicians often provide consultation to various schools, special education classes, residential programs and school adjustment counselors.
Services are provided by a professional staff of Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, psychologists, clinical nurse specialists and psychiatrists. Children’s Friend clinicians are caring, well-trained therapists who focus on the client’s strengths. Our staff is committed to our clients and advocates for them by going the extra mile.
Our clinic consists of four sites: Salem, Lynn, Gloucester and Amesbury as well as dozens of outreach offices located within the various communities that we serve.
