Vice President of Clinical Services

Diane is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Master’s Degrees in Counseling Psychology and Early Childhood Education. She has been at Children’s Friend for 6 years. During the past three years, she had been Site Director of the Salem Site where she managed the largest site and had a clinical staff of 15 Master’s level clinicians. Currently, Diane is now the Vice President of Clinical Services and oversees four Site Directors and a staff of 70 clinicians, as well as oversight for our Youth Mentoring, Teen Parent and Juvenile Court Clinic Programs. Diane has a strong background in emergency psychiatric work and was trained in an inpatient psychiatric unit. In addition, Diane is the Program Manager for the organization’s Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) program, which is based on a family systems approach in treating families with acting out children and adolescents. She went through a rigorous training program and is now a Certified BSFT therapist. Finally, Diane specializes in treating youth who have both learning disabilities and mental health issues.

Salem Site Director

Lynn is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who joined Children’s Friend in May 2005. She received her both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Boston College. Lynn has experience providing mental health services in a wide variety of settings, and has worked with preschool-aged children, survivors of domestic violence, and specialized foster children and families. Lynn is currently the Site Director of the Salem Site of Children’s Friend where she works with a team of clinicians to provide high quality mental health services to children and families in the area.

Haverhill Site Director

Andrea worked in business for seven years before beginning graduate work at Lesley University for Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in school and community work. Andrea’s pre- and post graduate work include substance abuse and trauma recovery, and working as a therapeutic teacher with latency-aged children. Her current interests are primarily adolescents and families. Andrea began working as a therapist with Children’s Friend in October 2004. She completed training in Brief Strategic Family Therapy and is currently practicing toward certification. Andrea briefly left Children’s Friend in 2006 to work on a state initiative for substance abuse treatment programs for teenagers. She returned in the fall of that year, and became the Site Director of the Haverhill/Amesbury clinics in January of 2007. Andrea continues to work with children, adolescents and families while overseeing clinical and administrative operations.

Gloucester Site Director

Lisa has worked with at-risk children, adolescents, and families for over twelve years in a variety of clinical and administrative roles. Prior to joining Children’s Friend, she was the director of a forty-five day alternative education assessment program for students excluded from public school. She has extensive experience and training in family therapy, child welfare, juvenile delinquency, trauma, and adventure based counseling. She has a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in Political Science and Women’s Studies, and a Master’s in Social Work from The Ohio State University. She is currently a doctoral student in the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work and teaches in the School of Social Work at Salem State College and the Counseling Psychology Department at Lesley University. Her clinical and research interests include juvenile delinquency and trauma.

Lynn Site Director

Kristen is an LICSW who has been with Children’s Friend since August 2002. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Women’s Studies from Holy Cross and her Master’s of Social Work from Boston College. Kristen has experience working with pre-school and school-aged children, survivors of domestic violence and clients with anxiety issues and trauma histories. Kristen is currently with Site Director of the Lynn Site of Children’s Friend, where she works with a team of 10 clinicians serving children and families in the greater Lynn area.
